Lunch on the Go
I have a hard time coming up with food that is easy to pack in a lunch for the times we have to be on the go. We get tired of sandwiches. Wraps have become a favorite option.
Here's how we make them:
Here's how we make them:
- Take a tortilla shell (whole wheat preferably) and spread it with cream cheese.
- Lay a piece of thin sliced deli meat or cooked chicken pieces on the tortilla. (Some of mine leave this out and just eat a vegy wrap.)
- Place other ingredients of choice on the tortilla. Options include thin sliced cucumbers, peppers, pickles, black olives, lettuce, and tomato.
- Roll up tortilla.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and place in cooler until ready to eat. (If it will be a long time until eating and it's convenient, I just take the ingredients with us and assemble them when needed because the tortilla shells can get soggy.)
We love wraps! An easy one is pb & jelly on wraps rolled up. Or spread pb on a wrap, place a banana in it & roll up. My little girls love this! Holly
ReplyDeleteI've never thought about pb&j on a tortilla. My kids love it on a sandwich.
