Whose Child is That?

I always find it interesting to watch children. Some of them you just know who their parents are by the way the children act. Our oldest son is built like, walks like, and acts very much like his father. There is no mistaking whose child he is.

I John 3:10 says, "This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother."
The world should be able to look at me and know who my Father is too. God is righteous. My life should exhibit righteousness. God is love. My life should be overflowing with love.

When reading I John 3:4-10, it seems pretty black and white. There is no in between. Either I lead a life of sin, and I'm of the devil, or I lead a life of righteousness, and I'm of God. It really is quite simple. We just make it complicated. Our culture likes to blur the lines between right and wrong. We need to look at things through our Father's eyes and throw out worldly wisdom.

There are some people I've met that it was obvious they were Christians. They had a peace written on their faces. The joy of the Lord was apparent. Love flowed out of them. There was no need for them to verbally tell me they were a Christian. I could tell. My prayer is that God will take me as his child and mold me more into his likeness. Then the world will know whose child I am.
