From the Rising of the Sun
Sometimes in life I feel like I'm being pulled down into a dark pit. Darkness surrounds and tears abound. This past Sunday we were taught a chorus from the Psalms that has ministered to my heart this week. As I've wept these words go through my mind, "From the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same, the name of the Lord will be praised." Somehow singing this chorus eases the ache in my heart. I'm not completely sure what the Lord is teaching me right now, but I'm thankful for the ministry of His Word. I truly can praise his name. He is all I need. He is sufficient.

"I will exalt you, O Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. O Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. O Lord, you brought me up from the grave, you spared me from going down into the pit. Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalm 30:1-5
Darkness
Pain
Hurt
Alone
But not truly alone
God hears
God knows
He gently reminds--
He always was
He always is
He always will be.
"Praise the Lord. Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord." Psalm 113

ReplyDeleteThose are some tough moments....I saw your picture of you and your children and thought...wow, she isn't like me...she has it all together...and then, you shared your heart and made it real. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder that God is near and in charge of everything that's happening. We are having tough moments now too. I feel much like the woman in the picture for this post.
