Life with a Little
How quickly I've forgotten what life with a baby is like. I woke up at 6:30 planning to sneak downstairs for my quiet time. Baby Boy pops up in the crib. I lay back down thinking just maybe he would go back to sleep. Fifteen minutes later and no such luck. He pops back up as soon as I move. I give up at 7:00 and head downstairs with Baby Boy. He's such a good little guy though. He doesn't fuss when he wakes up. He just waits for me to get up. However, he is insistent on getting up once I'm up.
So downstairs in the recliner I cuddle him and give him his breathing treatment. As soon as that's done and the diaper is changed, he's off and playing. I get out my Bible and start in on my Bible study. I never did get a chance to finish today. That's ok though. God supplies all that I need even when our time gets short changed.
Right now I'm going through Beth Moore's study Believing God. It has been such a blessing to me. Each day God's Word has encouraged me. Today's verses were from Isaiah 40:28-31.
Such good verses to think on as Baby Boy is running everywhere. He does not walk. He knows one speed and it is full speed. I need to be able to "run and not grow weary." Several times a day I find my strength needs renewed.
God has been so good and faithful throughout this past week. I truly have experienced that extra strength. Any of you that know me very well know that I need an afternoon power nap to be able to get through the day. After supper I might as well forget about accomplishing much, and I am ready to turn in by 9:00 at night. Yet God has granted that extra boost I've needed to keep up with the extra demands. I stand back amazed. But why? I serve the God who created this universe. He has all power. He has power over the weather. He has power over death. He does great miracles. And still I find myself amazed when he gives little ole me an extra boost of energy as I adjust to life with a little.
He is an awesome God.
